Improving the Blair County Workforce together
The Blair County Workforce Development Consortium is a group of Behavioral Health system partners and providers collectively working together to improve the workforce in behavioral health services in the county. Through various initiatives, our goal is to attain and retain staff through collectively engaging and supporting individuals who are interested in or are already working in the field.
We are eager to explore any opportunities to present the local Behavioral Health career options to students in addition to encouraging opportunities for job shadowing and/or student internships.

What is Behavioral Health?
Behavioral health includes the emotions and behaviors that affect a person’s overall well-being. Behavioral health is sometimes referred to as mental health and often includes substance use. Just like physical health, behavioral health has trained providers that help much like a physical health care provider would.

In behavioral health, you can work with children, families, and/or adults with an mental health and/or substance use diagnosis in their homes, schools, communities or in an office based or residential setting.

Presentations of Behavior Health Workforce
The group developed student presentations to nurture workforce development within behavioral health services in Blair County. We are looking to build communication and collaboration with local high schools and colleges to make sure that the most recent behavioral health and social service career opportunities are being shared with students.
